Only make wheatcake batter in the wheatcake bowl, not a soup pot.

Single Batch
  • 1 bag flour
  • 1-1/2 pints milk
  • 1 pint buttermilk
Double Batch
  • 2 bags flour
  • 3 pints milk
  • 2 pints buttermilk

Preparation: Add the milk and whip into a smooth paste with no lumps, then add the buttermilk and whip again. Pour remainder of old batch onto top new batch.
