Workplace Integrity Standards
THE MOST IMPORTANT RULE: "RING IT, THEN
BRING IT."
Every single item must be entered into the POS system before it is
prepared, served, or handed to a customer. No exceptions. No excuses.
Failure to follow "Ring it, THEN bring it" is theft. It will
result in immediate termination and possible criminal charges.
A. Monitoring and Accountability
We take workplace integrity seriously. Our restaurant is monitored by cameras
and microphones to ensure compliance with all policies.
- Management actively observes and documents employee
actions.
- Excuses like "I thought" or "I was
going to" are not acceptable.
B. Merchandise and Revenue Protection
WARNING: EMBEZZLEMENT IS A CRIME
The following actions will result in immediate termination and
legal action:
- Failing to ring up sales, even for a single item.
- Taking inventory or food without paying.
- Pocketing customer payments instead of entering
them into the POS system.
- Colluding with coworkers to bypass order
processing.
Order Taking, Payment, and Merchandise
Handling
1. Order Entry and Processing – "Ring it,
THEN bring it."
- DO: Enter every item into the POS system before
preparing or serving.
- DO NOT: Serve or prepare anything before it appears
on the POS/KDS system.
- Even employee meals must be rung up before
cooking or serving any items.
2. Dine-In Orders
- Using the handhelds while at the customer is mandatory. Take the handheld
device to the table.
- Writing down the order or attempting to remember it and walking to
the cashier station to enter it for dine-in orders is not permitted.
- If a customer adds an item, recall the order, add it, and then
serve.
3. Carryout Orders
- Orders must be taken at the cashier station or via
a handheld device.
- Payment must be collected BEFORE packaging or preparation
begins.
3.Phone Orders:
- Phone orders up to $40 are accepted without prepayment.
- Orders exceeding $40 require customers to pay online. Do
not take credit card numbers over the phone.
- Instead, to not discourage business, politely
explain that for orders over $40, they should come in to the
restaurant to place their order, or place the order online at https://gwtogo.com/
4. Voids and Refunds
- Voids require documentation (pink ticket + coworker
signature).
- Refunds require manager approval.
5. Short Sales (Theft)
Giving away anything without ringing it up is theft.
- Even a free coffee or fries add up to major losses.
- Unauthorized giveaways = immediate termination.
6. Payment Handling
- CASH: Count aloud, verify the total, and handle
correctly. Never pocket cash.
- CREDIT CARDS: Never alter tip amounts or process
unauthorized charges.
FINAL REMINDER
If you don’t "Ring it, THEN bring it," you won’t work here.
This is the most important procedure in the restaurant.
Learn it. Follow it. No exceptions.
